What it is

  • Docker
  • Web UI
  • Containers
  • Compose

Portainer is a web UI for Docker. In the browser you see all containers, images, volumes and networks, can view logs, open a container console and run Docker Compose stacks.

Handy when the server runs several services and working with docker in the terminal is inconvenient: restarting, updating an image and viewing logs take a couple of clicks.

Installed with the official Community Edition command using the lts tag.

  • Manage containers, images, volumes and networks
  • Docker Compose stacks from a web editor or Git
  • Container logs, stats and console in the browser
  • App templates for quick launch
  • Users and roles

Recommended plan

Minimum to run
1 vCPU · 1 GB RAM · 10 GB disk
Systems
Ubuntu 22.04 · Ubuntu 24.04 · Debian 12
