Frequently asked questions

What is a Looking Glass?

It is a tool that runs network commands not from your computer but from a server in an ExpressHost data center. It shows how the ExpressHost network reaches your users, site or IP.

How is traceroute different from mtr?

Traceroute walks the hops of the route once. Mtr sends a series of packets and shows the loss and latency spread at every hop, so it is better for finding problems.

How do I see the route from ExpressHost to me?

Pick traceroute or mtr and enter your IP: the “your IP” button fills it in. This is the return route the server's replies take to you.

Is IPv6 supported?

Yes, for the commands marked 6: ping6, traceroute6, mtr6, tcp port v6 and http(s) v6. The IPv6 addresses of the test servers are in the table below.

  • Speedtest

Speed, ping and route to the data centers, and the right location for your task.

  • VPS Checker

Benchmark and audit of any VPS: CPU, IP, media and network speed.

  • Locations
