Why these resources

Minimums come from the apps' official requirements; our estimates are marked.

  1. 01Scripts and automation2 vCPU · 2 GB · 50 GB

For openSUSE Leap 16.0 the project lists a dual-core CPU, 2 GB of memory plus memory for your workload, and more than 40 GB of free disk space. Hence 50 GB.

  2. 02Website on Nginx or Apache2 vCPU · 4 GB · 50 GB · estimate

The Leap minimum plus 2 GB of memory for the web server and the database. Our estimate.

  3. 03Containerized app2 vCPU · 4 GB · 80 GB · estimate

Room for container images and database data. Our estimate.

  4. 04Project production server4 vCPU · 8 GB · 100 GB · estimate

Our estimate for a small project's production server.

  5. 05Builds and CI6 vCPU · 12 GB · 150 GB · estimate

Our estimate for parallel builds and tests.

  6. 06Several services with databases8 vCPU · 16 GB · 200 GB · estimate

Our estimate for several busy services.

openSUSE VPS FAQ

No answer here? Message @ExpressHost_SupportBot.

Which openSUSE version should I choose?

For a new server, Leap 16: the project promises it 24 months of support. Support for Leap 15 ended on April 30, 2026, and it no longer gets any updates, security updates included, so use it only for software that hasn't been moved yet.

How is openSUSE Leap different from other systems?

Leap is built on SUSE Linux Enterprise, and RPM packages install with zypper rather than apt or dnf. Teams choose it when they work with the SUSE ecosystem. The library scripts target Ubuntu, Debian and AlmaLinux.

How do I connect over SSH?

With ssh root@IP: the address and root password arrive in the bot after payment. You can add an SSH key when ordering or under “Settings → SSH keys”, and the VNC console opens right from the bot.

Can I reinstall the system?

Yes, the OS reinstalls with one button in the server panel in the bot. Save the files you need before reinstalling.
