Which CentOS version should I choose?
For a new server, CentOS Stream 9: the CentOS Project ships updates for it until May 31, 2027. CentOS Linux 7 and 8 and CentOS Stream 8 no longer get updates, security updates included; they are only for legacy software that hasn't been migrated yet.
When did support for CentOS 7 and 8 end?
CentOS Linux 8 on December 31, 2021, CentOS Stream 8 on May 31, 2024, CentOS Linux 7 on June 30, 2024. If your software allows it, move to CentOS Stream 9, Rocky Linux or AlmaLinux: they are systems of the same RHEL family with packages via dnf.
How do I connect over SSH?
With ssh root@IP: the address and root password arrive in the bot after payment. You can add an SSH key when ordering or under “Settings → SSH keys”, and the VNC console opens right from the bot.
Can I reinstall the system?
Yes, the OS is reinstalled with one button in the server panel in the bot. Save the files you need before reinstalling.
