Prices are taken from the providers' pricing pages on the check date, per month, without prepayment discounts; rubles and euros are converted to US dollars at the official rate (Central Bank of Russia and ECB respectively). Our price is the step from the list above, with the server in the Netherlands. Resources don't match one to one: where another provider gives more of a resource, the row says so. Providers change their prices; the current price is on their site, linked in each row.

Why these resources

Minimums come from the apps' official requirements; our estimates are marked.

  1. 01API in Go or Bun1 vCPU · 1 GB · 10 GB

A Go or Bun service is one process using tens of megabytes. Go and Bun in the library need at least 1 vCPU, 1 GB, 10 GB; the OS doesn't allow going lower.

  2. 02Node.js app1 vCPU · 2 GB · 20 GB · estimate

The app itself fits into 1 GB, but building on the server (npm ci, next build) needs more memory.

  3. 03Your own Heroku on Coolify2 vCPU · 2 GB · 30 GB

Coolify's official minimum is 2 cores, 2 GB of memory and 10 GB of disk. 30 GB leaves room for Docker images and the build cache.

  4. 04App with a database and cache2 vCPU · 4 GB · 50 GB · estimate

PostgreSQL (about 25% of memory is the advice for shared_buffers) and Redis come on top of the app.

  5. 05Microservices in Docker4 vCPU · 8 GB · 100 GB · estimate

Our estimate for a set of containers with a database, queues and a reverse proxy.

  6. 06Production and staging with CI8 vCPU · 16 GB · 200 GB · estimate

Two copies of the stack, production and staging, plus CI builds. Our estimate.

Common questions

No answer here? Message @ExpressHost_SupportBot.

Can I deploy from Git, like on Heroku?

Yes, with Coolify: it installs from the library and builds apps straight from a Git repository. Coolify's official minimum is 2 cores, 2 GB of memory and 10 GB of disk, hence the “Your own Heroku on Coolify” plan: 2 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 30 GB NVMe for $5.16 a month.

Is 1 GB enough to build a Node.js app?

A ready Go or Bun service runs fine on 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, 10 GB NVMe. Building on the server (npm ci, next build) usually needs more memory, so for Node.js we plan 2 GB: the “Node.js app” plan for $3.29 a month. That's our estimate.

How do I install Docker?

Tick Docker at the “Add-ons” step when ordering, and it is installed together with the server. On a running server, use the command from the script library or ask Rich Agent in the bot: it asks for confirmation before running anything.

How do I attach a domain and HTTPS to the app?

A *.expresshost.cloud domain is assigned automatically; your own is connected in the bot, under “DNS / Domains”. Caddy and Traefik can both issue Let's Encrypt certificates, and both are in the library.
