What it is

  • CI/CD
  • Build automation
  • Plugins

Jenkins is a build and deployment automation server. It runs tests, builds projects and rolls them out to servers on a Git push or on a schedule.

Jenkins' main strength is thousands of plugins: integrations with GitHub, GitLab, Docker, Telegram and almost any tool. Pipelines are defined as code in a Jenkinsfile.

The command runs the official LTS image on Java 21.

  • Pipelines as code (Jenkinsfile)
  • Over 1800 plugins
  • Builds by webhook, schedule or manually
  • Distributed agents
  • Docker integration

Recommended plan

For Jenkins: at least 2 vCPU, 3 GB RAM and 45 GB NVMe.

Minimum to run
1 vCPU · 2 GB RAM · 10 GB disk
Systems
Ubuntu 22.04 · Ubuntu 24.04 · Debian 12

How to install

Three steps in the bot or one command over SSH; installation takes about 2 minutes.

Jenkins FAQ

Didn’t find an answer? Message @ExpressHost_SupportBot.

How do I update Jenkins?

Run docker pull jenkins/jenkins:lts-jdk21 and recreate the container with the same command. Jobs and plugins are kept in the jenkins_home volume.

Where is the data stored?

In the jenkins_home Docker volume: jobs, build history, plugins and credentials.

How many resources do I need?

Jenkins itself gets by with 2 GB RAM, but builds on the same server consume CPU and memory. For regular builds, choose 2 vCPU or more.

Jenkins installs at checkout — in the bot.
