Jitsi Meet is video conferencing right in the browser, with no sign-up or software to install. Your own Zoom or Google Meet alternative for teams, lessons and client calls.
On your own server there are no limits on meeting length or count, and call traffic doesn't go to third parties. Includes screen sharing, chat, password-protected rooms and mobile apps.
The command deploys the official Docker stack: web, Prosody, Jicofo and the JVB video bridge.
For Jitsi Meet: at least 4 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 100 GB NVMe.
Three steps in the bot or one command over SSH; installation takes about 5 minutes.
Open @ExpressHost_bot and pay for a VPS. The server will be ready in about 60 seconds.
At the “Add-ons” step pick the script from the library, or run it later: Server settings → Scripts.

Connect to the server as root and run the command. Supported systems: Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 12.

Load depends on the number of video streams. 4 vCPU and 4 GB is comfortable for small-team meetings; large conferences need extra bandwidth and CPU headroom.
Browsers only allow camera and microphone access over HTTPS. Open Jitsi via https on port 8443 or through a proxy with a certificate.
Download the new docker-jitsi-meet release, carry over your .env and run docker compose pull && docker compose up -d.
